Enjoy the Silence

We aim to be at the sights either before or after the crowds for the best possible experience. What makes our expeditions special is the fact that we use the back roads as much as possible. Giving us a change to explore many hidden areas in peace.

Tour highlights are Þingvellir National Park, Geysir hot-spring area, Gullfoss waterfall, Hekla volcano, Veiðivötn lakes, Markárfljótsgljúfur and many more unique sites found of the beaten path.

We drive towards the highlands through Þjórsárdalur valley, the route will take us close to Hekla Volcano.  We will explore the volcanic area around Hekla and make scenic stops throughout the day. Then it’s time to Landmannalaugar, where we go for a short hike.

So the Vatnajökull glacier will tke place in our day, we start by driving to the unique Glacier Lagoon and Diamond beach. After enjoying the lagoon, we head back, and stop at Skaftafell. A beautiful area close to the outlet glacier Skaftafellsjökull.
We´ll explore also the Eldhraun lava field and Laki craters.

On our way back to Reykjavík, we´ll be driving through the area just North of Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Following a route called Mælifellssandur, a very scenic route that is hard to describe other than unique.

SAFETY CONSIDERATION:

The trip includes can be considered demanding at some point. Driving in the roads can gets tired the drivers for this reason there will be several drivers among the group (2 least). During the tour we can also hike some mountains/hills (ranging in length from 500m to 5 km) can be carried out with relatively manageable gradients. We may encounter ice, snow, mud or something else. Temperatures may vary by several degrees between 3 ° C and 18 ° C. You are therefore advised to dress appropriately.
