Beyond the 76th parallel north, Arctic Circle, there is a magical place, populated by incredible and unique animals, where you can admire the midnight sun, with the nights illuminated by day, and if luck will assist us we could also see the King of the Arctic: the polar bear. Our landings will give you close encounters with both Arctic wildlife and ghost towns of whalers, arctic hunters and miners. Visiting different and fascinating settlements such as Barentsburg, Longyearbyen or Ny Ålesund is a fundamental part of a trip to Spitsbergen. MS Nordstjernen has Norwegian officers and crew. The official language on board is Norwegian. On board there are always Scandinavian, English and German speaking guides.

SAFETY CONSIDERATION:

The trip includes several landings during the entire trip, where some treks (ranging in length from 500m to 5 km) can be carried out with relatively manageable gradients. We may encounter ice, snow, mud or something else. Temperatures may vary by several degrees between 3 ° C and 12 ° C. You are therefore advised to dress appropriately.
